Privacy Policy
Spelling Bee for Discord · Last updated October 13, 2026
What we collect
- Your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar.
- Your Discord friends' user IDs, if you grant that permission.
- The ID and name of the server you launch the game from, your device's timezone, and whether you are on desktop or mobile.
- Your game activity: when you open and play, the words you find, how many words were rejected and why, whether you opened the hints, playing time and results.
Permissions we ask Discord for
- Your identity, to know who is playing.
- Your server list, used for one thing only: to read the name of the server you opened the game in. We do not keep, or look at, the rest of the list.
- Your friends list, where enabled, for the Friends leaderboard. Only your friends' IDs are kept.
How we use it
To run the game, show leaderboards and your statistics, let you challenge friends, and understand overall usage. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
What others can see
Your display name, avatar and results appear on leaderboards. When you start the game with /spellingbee in a server, a message says you are playing.
Where it is kept
On Cloudflare, which hosts the game. We keep it while the game is running, or until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
You can remove the app's access at any time in Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps. To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, contact us.
